What is a Physiatrist?
A physiatrist is a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician with education and skills to treat a wide variety of medical conditions affecting the neurological system (brain, spinal cord, and nerve) and musculoskeletal system (bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons).

A physiatrist is a medical doctor who completed speciality training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). A physiatrist may be subspecilized in Brain Injury Medicine, Neuromuscular Medicine, Pain Medicine, Spinal Cord Injury Medicine, and/or Sports Medicine.
